About Me
I was an overweight child struggling with a food addiction due to
anxiety over my mother dying of cancer when I was age nine. I went on
to college and got the “right” degree and career and ended up in the
marketing and advertising industry for quite some time.
All was good, but I felt something was missing. My passionate journey
seeking the career I really |
wanted
ensued. I realized only six short years ago that career was empowering
individuals to live a healthy lifestyle and feel confident in their own
skin.
I have been told by many “if I could
only look like you” but I am here to say that each person’s goals,
ideals, dreams and feelings are unique to themselves. Learning to love
myself was the first part to truly being fit and healthy. In the past I
had competed in triathlons, half marathons and figure competitions to
keep my weight down. But, only when I made my goal to be healthy for
myself, not to train for an event; did the number on the scale or pant
size not matter. Today, I am truly happy with my body and accept that I
will never wear a size zero designer jean.
Fitness
Experience
I have been in the fitness industry since high school where I
started teaching group fitness classes at a Woman’s Workout World (and,
yes, I did wear a paisley unitard). I am certified by the National
Academy of Sports Medicine as a Personal Trainer and am
an Intrinsic Coach® specializing in Health and Wellness.
My greatest joy is helping my clients get what they want from their
lives. My areas of expertise center around weight and lifestyle
management from a total health perspective, healthy eating strategies,
weight training and cardiovascular endurance. I am thankful every day
that I get to do what I love for a living.
My free time is spent weight and/or triathlon training, hitting a
spinning or cardio class, continually training my STUBBORN Siberian
Husky and looking for four-leaf clovers (yes they are out there). My
next endeavor is to compete in a Fitness competition, as I love to
entertain! That way my Dad will see that some of my college coursework
in acting, which he reluctantly financed, finally came to some use!
Love you Dad.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my story. I look forward to
hearing from you and learning how I may help you get what you want out
of your life and wellness. |

Testimonial
“Brenda’s interest lies in helping people just like me: women who are
looking for guidance. I think it can be intimidating for the
average woman to think a trainer only works with people who are already
fit and or are training for an athletic event.
My biggest challenge was my nutrition and Brenda really helped me
navigate through the confusion, all while keeping my lifestyle in
mind. When I fell off the wagon, she gave me the tools to help
get back on track, for example; weekly nutrition challenges, websites
to help me track my calories, snack ideas and questions that dug into
the psychology of my overeating.”
